Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Even with the dense world of Spider-Man 2, the quick traversal that is possible in-game, and how that impacts the loading time of the environments, the RAM requirements still stick to 16GB at 1440p, keeping it in line with the PS5’s own specs. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has almost identical specs to Horizon Forbidden West, another PS5 game ported to PC. While older rigs can handle this game at 720p, you’ll need one of the best graphics card picks from our extensive buying guide if you’re going to be pushing for the highest graphical presets at high resolutions with ray tracing enabled. Like most AAA games, fall 2023’s big blockbuster game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, has already confirmed a host of editions and pre-order bonuses that players can choose from when the game launches on October 20th, 2023. If you’re looking forward to the webslinger’s next great adventure, and you’re looking to splash some cash, here’s what you need to know about the various Spider-Man 2 editions, prices and pre-order bonuses. I can’t say that I noticed one dropped frame in my dozens of hours of playing.

If you don’t already have one of the best gaming SSD options from our buying guide, now would be a good time to upgrade. Despite being a PS5 port, the Spider-Man 2 system requirements can ask a lot of your gaming PC, especially if you want to play at 4K with ray tracing enabled. The web-slingers are back on PC, and while the minimum specs will work for older gaming PCs, ray tracing will require a more powerful rig. As in previous entries in the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, there are plenty of Side Missions in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that you can complete to engage in unique storylines with various characters, and earn special rewards. Of course, if you’re going to be catching your ray-traced, 4K reflection (if you opt for the 30fps fidelity mode) in that glass so often, you’ll want to look your best.

Marvel’s Spider-man Vs Spider-man 2

As Peter goes on a mindless symbiote-induced rampage against the Hunters (even nearly killing Mary Jane at one point), Kraven captures Miles and forces him to fight Li. Miles overcomes his anger towards Li and helps him escape, directing him to find Peter. Despite the disappointment, it’s unlikely that any DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would’ve been very exciting. All of which brings us to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s PC system requirements, with Sony’s minimum specification targeting 720p at 30fps on Very Low settings.

Marvel’s New York will naturally be hiding lots of enigmatic and rewarding secrets in its streets and skylines, but one thing which has been given a Super Hero glow-up are the suits you can unlock for Miles and Peter. Enter the addition of Brooklyn and Queens, which nearly doubles the size of the city and offers even more familiar locations that are important to both Spider-Men. Fans can expect to spot places like Brooklyn Visions Academy, Midtown High School, and Aunt May’s house, where Peter is living presently. They won’t just try to out-fight you, but they’ll also aim to out-think you.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the open-world sequel to the web-slinger’s first game by Insomniac Games, is coming to PC late in January 2025. The game, which released on PS5 in 2023, follows Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they fight classic Spider-Man rouges like Kraven the Hunter and Venom. While the game left some stories open for more down the road, Insomniac Games has addressed whether Spider-Man 2 will get any story DLC.

And while we know Peter will be able to wield Symbiote powers at some stage, there’s no telling if Venom himself will eventually join forces with the spidey duo, perhaps uniting against the common threat of Kraven The Hunter. Obviously, it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man game without the man of the hour, Peter Parker. Players will reprise the role of Spidey in Insomniac’s sequel, stepping into the shoes of the friendly neighborhood hero – though he won’t be alone. The first full-fledged sequel is just around the corner, as the first-party PlayStation studio is close to bringing the Marvel icon’s next story to life. The Spider-Man 2 minimum specs almost completely mimic those of Horizon Forbidden West, which is no surprise given that both games are PS5 ports that use expansive open worlds with a high level of graphical fidelity.

While not the most visually impressive experience, it ensures that players with older hardware can still enjoy the story. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is swinging its way onto PC, bringing Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ latest adventure to computer screens worldwide. Whether you’re planning to fight Venom and Kraven on a budget gaming rig or a top-tier machine, you need to fulfill a set of requirements.

Insomniac Games brings yet another thrilling installment into their critically acclaimed and beloved Spider-Man franchise with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Visual artifacts and a few crashes still remain even after three patches, and the game can feel less than optimized when the frame rate drops on powerful hardware. If you’re willing to wait just a little longer or are the patient and forgiving type, you’ll be rewarded with a safe sequel that can still satisfy fans of the Insomniac-developed games. This title also gets fans primed for the eventual finale what is almost certainly a trilogy. However, this release serves as a warning that Sony and its studios need to do some real work to ensure future game releases are stable from day one, or else they’ll lose the PC audience that is crucial to funding future endeavors. Movement is handled very similarly to the previous games in the series. Using their web shooters, the protagonists can swing between and above buildings while performing aerial acrobatics.

Standard open-world filler activities are here aplenty, and that’s one area where Spider-Man 2 hasn’t moved with the times or shown ambition at all. Collectibles, photo opportunities, and rather basic street crimes are still here and, despite having a few slightly more interesting quirks this time around, they only very occasionally excite. You’ll regularly be stopping the same getaways with the same few button presses (the button-mashing from previous games is mercifully largely gone) or stopping a break-in by battering the same few goons. The main story took me around 18 hours to complete before I hit 100%, and the subsequent platinum trophy popped up to congratulate my efforts after 27 in total. Despite whatever loftier ambitions the story may have, this is still unapologetically an old-school approach to open-world game design, and nowhere is this displayed more clearly than in its optional quests. Spider-Man 2, and to an extent all great Spider-Man stories, tackle themes of adolescence and puberty – a time of uncertainty for even the most normal of teenagers trying to control bodily fluids.
